About Verve Run Club
Verve Run Club is a running community in Bhubaneswar. Its website handles run registration and Razorpay payments, QR-code tickets, a phone-based gate scanner that starts and stops each runner's clock, live results and a leaderboard, price tiers that step up on their own as seats fill, and a community feed for announcements and photos.
What I Did
As Director of Growth and Technology, I designed and built the platform end to end (Next.js, Supabase with Row Level Security, Razorpay webhooks and reconciliation, transactional email) and I run the club's growth: moving runs from free to paid, pricing, and promotion.
Highlights
- Took the club from free runs costing about ₹2,000 each to a paid event that brought in about ₹10,000
- 145 accounts in about three days, 56 paid registrations, and 44 runners timed from start to finish by a QR scanner on a phone
- Seat holds and a row lock keep the ₹99, ₹129 and ₹149 price tiers and the seat cap exact when hundreds of people claim seats at once, verified with 200 simultaneous connections on real Postgres
- Razorpay webhook plus a reconciliation tool, so a payment always becomes a ticket even if the browser tab closes
- Admin check-in with type-ahead search by name or bib number, built for one person managing hundreds of runners
